About Us.

LimenLab is changing attitudes to nature through art

LimenLab was created by ecological artist Laura Donkers, who designs social interactions and creative experiences in nature. She believes that art can have a significant impact on how we perceive the living environment.

As an ecological and socially engaged artist, her work explores the interplay between embodied process and ecological concern. By creating direct sensory experiences with nature via social interactions and creative encounters Donkers' projects and workshops help people get closer to their communities and environments.
Collaborations with local communities and stakeholders aim to generate ecological responsibility through experiential learning and new modes of creative activity to help put people back in touch with environment, community, and self.

Our values

We value agency by developing creative interactions to tell stories about environmental regeneration and climate change adaptation.

We support nature through pro-environmental approaches that safeguard biodiversity and nature’s processes.

We value transparency in relationship building by being open, upfront and honest about what is
possible within timeframes and resource limitations.

Best Practice

We draw from respectful, traditional practices to design workshops and projects that demonstrate respect for all life forms.

We reduce ecological impact in how natural materials are harvested and in terms of considerate energy use and recycling/disposal of materials at end of workshop/project.

What we do

We design and lead creative workshops and projects in collaboration with artists, community groups, and organisations.

We deliver 'hands-on' exploration of nature to expand creative and ecological awareness.

Through direct sensory experiences, participants get to explore, connect with, and develop empathy for nature.
